  • Martin Edge (He/Him)

    ARTIST

    Martin Edge is a Queensland artist and proud ambassador for Autism Queensland. Martin captures and reflects his perspectives of the world by recreating memorable moments and recollections filtered through his imagination.

    Martin’s art-making process of reconnecting collages of memory fragments enables us to see what Martin sees—the wonderment of our world from the mundane to the whimsical.

    Martin started painting in 2007. Since then, he has made his mark in Australian art by exploring his special interests through his artwork and adventure-making. Some of these interests include, painting, travel, the ocean, a day out, collecting art and antiques, modes of transport (especially CityCats), buildings and cityscapes.

    Martin’s artwork is held in state and national institutions. He is represented by Anthea Polson Art and Robin Gibson Gallery and is an ambassador for Autism Queensland.

  • Pia Robinson (she/her)

    CULTURAL PRODUCER

    Pia Robinson, Founder @TheCultureCrusader, is an award-winning Arts Manager and local Moreton Bay resident. She has extensive experience across a number of sectors: education, tertiary, museum and galleries, philanthropic, local government, public art and activations, placemaking, commercial, widening participation, community engagement, social justice, cultural tourism and more.

  • Dr Sal Edwards  (they/them)

    Dr Sal Edwards (they/them)

    DESIGNER, MAKER

    Sal is an early career researcher, fashion designer, maker, and teacher based in Meanjin/Brisbane. They identify as a queer, non-binary person who loves to examine and analyse structures of power and Western societal norms, so they can find ways to disrupt and challenge them through fashion practice.

    In March 2021, they graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy from Queensland University of Technology. Their PhD thesis; 'Towards a Queer Design Practice for Menswear: Disrupting Historical Gender(ed) Narratives', was a recipient of the Executive Dean’s Commendation for Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award for the faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice.

  • Josephine Mitchell (she/her)

    With a background in visitor experience, program facilitation and education, Josephine cares deeply about creating safe and welcoming spaces through art and public programming.

    Grounded by her lived-experience of Autism, she provides accessibility and inclusion support to museums, galleries and associated festivals and events. Most recently, Josephine was Accessibility Coordinator for the Abbey Medieval Festival, which saw over 20,000 people attending this sold-out event.

  • Haline Ly (she/her)

    DESIGNER, ILLUSTRATOR

    A research-based graphic designer, Haline Ly has had 20 years of experience in the creative industry - working with SBS, The Powerhouse Museum, Brisbane City Council, the Australian Embassy and the City of Sydney to connect with and generate continuous engagement with local and international audiences. Haline has a great love for the environment, humanitarian causes, public art and cultural projects. She works hard to foster human connections through her work to evoke meaningful responses and is constantly in search of the perfect croissant.

  • Josh Zaini (he/him)

    CINEMATOGRAPHER

    Josh is a highly creative and multi award winning cinematographer and director of over 15 years, Josh’s career is comprised of a unique blend of experiences. His work has spanned international prime time T.V. series and documentaries to advertising, comedy, and film. 

    His early career took him around the globe, creating films for National Geographic, Discovery, Animal Planet, NBC and ABC. Josh found himself in some of the most remote and extreme parts of the world. From unearthing lost tribes in the Kenyan wilderness to rescuing bears in the Transylvanian mountains to digging his own bed in the Antarctic snow and dodging mortar attacks in the Middle East.

    Josh turned his focus to advertising in 2013 and had since created content for some of the most recognisable brands and agencies in the world, from Sony Pictures, Universal, Cisco, Nickelodeon, Suncorp, Red Bull and Tourism Australia, winning multiple awards for direction and cinematography at a state and national level.

    Josh is extremely passionate about his craft and creating visually striking and powerful films. His technical acumen, experience and creativity ensure a world class product, while his calm demeanour and friendly smile ensure he is always a pleasure to have on set.

  • Helena Papageorgiou

    ANIMATOR

    Helena Papageorgiou is an animator, art director, motion designer, and projection artist. Helena creates music videos, live visuals and uses augmented reality in her works to create a narrative experience. These works incorporate various stylistic mediums from film, collage, motion design, and 2D and 3D animation to convey a sense of visual immersion. From concept to screen, Helena tells stories through movement, image and illustration.

    Helena has been working in Augmented Reality to extend the storytelling facet to include new and immersive media art. Completing an artist residency at the end of 2020 at the Museum of Brisbane also led to a residency with Snap to become an official Lens creator and go on to work in conjunction with Google as part of Earth Day 2021. From the Gallery of NSW, Flinders Quarter Art walks in Melbourne and over to the NZ rooftops, she has been developing her animation skills to broaden this communication vehicle.

    Also, curating events as part of Horizon Festival 2019 to work with established visual artists and transform their work into interactive motion experiences using Augmented Reality. The works were presented across Nambour, collectively forming an interactive art trail using the EyeJack app.

    Her projects include working with clients such as Snap, Google, Apple, Nike, Qantas, EyeJack, Gallery of NSW, Warner Music, and Sunshine Coast Council, as well as live visuals created for festival events such as Splendour in the Grass, Laneway, Groovin’ the Moo, Commonwealth Games Festival 2018, Geelong After Dark and BIGSOUND.

    Her music videos have been recognised both locally and internationally with award-winning commendations.
